Turkish for English speakers · A1 to A2
Go beyond phrases. Understand how Turkish works.
Turkish builds words by adding endings in a fixed pattern. Learn the pattern once and you can form words you have never seen, instead of memorizing them one by one.

One word, a whole sentence
In Turkish, endings do the work that small words do in English. Take evlerimizden: it means “from our houses”. It is just four pieces in a fixed order.
The catch is that each ending changes its shape depending on the word it attaches to. That is what most courses leave unexplained, and it is what Beyond Merhaba is built around.
Rules, not guesswork
Every form on this site comes from a grammar engine written as explicit rules, not from AI. That means the answers are consistent, and every one can be explained.
Vowel harmony
The suffix changes its vowel to match the word.
Consonant softening
A final p, ç, t or k often softens before a vowel.
Consonant hardening
The suffix's d turns into t after a hard consonant.
Buffer letters
A y slips in so two vowels never collide.
How it works
Learn the rule
Each lesson explains one grammar point in plain English, with tables that show every form.
Practice it
Exercises check your answers against the same engine, so the feedback is exact, not approximate.
Build your own words
Use the interactive tools to stack suffixes, break words apart and see why each ending looks the way it does.
Twelve units, from first hello to travel
